Mary Marg Helgenberger (born November 16th, 1958) is an American actor. Her professional career started in the early 1980s and began to be noticed after acting as Siobhan on the daily soap show Ryan's Hope from 1982 to the year 1986. Her best-known role was Catherine Willows, a CBS procedural police drama. Crime Scene Investigation 2000-13 and Immortality 2015, the television film that followed. She is the oldest of four siblings. McCain has completed her studies with The Phoenix Country Day School and Xavier College Preparatory an all-girl private Catholic high school. She completed a bachelor's degree in art history at Columbia University in 2007. She joined The View in 2017 and was co-hosting the show through 2021. McCain earned three Daytime Emmy nominations. Other ventures McCain has been a columnist for the Daily Mail newspaper after her three-year tenure on The View. McCain wrote four books, among them My Dad John McCain (2008) Dirty Sexy Politics (2010) America You Sexy Bitch : A Letter to Freedom along with Michael Ian Black (2012) and Bad Republican (2022).
